Off to investigate Radley Common, Houghton Green to more to see what wildlife we can spot. This area is at risk from developers so anything we can do to highlight what will be lost of this goes ahead will give us ammunition to try and stop this.

Glorious mud!
A bit like Woodstock but without the rock and roll.
We undertook a rather muddy journey today to get to Highfield Moss to see if we could find any of the mythical creatures known as Owls. I say mythical as I am beginning to wonder if they actually exist (they certainly don't at Parkgate!)
It was a bit like finding the lost world, without the dinosaurs (and much else if I'm being honest!) It was one of those "wish I'd worn my wellies" day as my feet were soaked pretty much from the off as the mystery hole in my boot returned to haunt me. The day was saved thankfully by a solitary yellow hammer and a gaggle of reed buntings.
We also found a beach and some chicken head fungus (not strictly its botanical name but it looked like the wobbly bit on top of a chicken.) Not bad for a miserable November Saturday.
Final scores then....
Dogs stroked - 3
Wildlife - neglible
Epic walk rating - Soggy
